The Mission Systems Operations Contract (MSOC) has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Pressure Systems Specialist to join our SVMF Operations team within the Space Vehicle Mockup Facility (SVMF) Services section.

The SVMF Operations team consists of a group of specialists supporting various roles in the facility including Maintenance operations Operations Technicians Loose Equipment & Property Management and Pressure Systems Specialists that provide the operations and maintenance tasking to operate and maintain the various space vehicle and stand-alone mockups used for Astronaut crew and Instructor team training. The applicant will join the SVMF Operations team within a dynamic team environment and will be responsible for working with the NASA customers external vendors Astronaut Crew Instructor teams Mockup Managers users and commercial and international partners to capture and negotiate requirements and operations concepts and then drive those change requests through the development and operations lifecycle of the mockups.

Our ideal candidate will have a strong drive to apply and continually update his/her skill base.

Pressure Systems Specialist Primary Responsibilities:
Train and certify as Partial Gravity System (PGS) Operator.
Train and certify as Environmental Control Systems (ECS) Operator.
Train and certify as Test Director (TD) to lead Pressurized Suited operations activities.
Maintain and perform to all Facility Safety training standards.
Provide maintenance support of all pressure systems including Breathing Air Control Carts (BACCs) and the PGS.
Provide general maintenance support to other mockups and systems in the facility.
Work with and maintain standards set by the NASA Pressure Systems Management office (PSMO) and NASA Safety requirements.
Provide documentation support to keep all maintenance and operations support documents relevant and up to date.
Other tasking as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
This position requires successful completion of a government background check to access government facilities and systems.

This is NOT a Remote Work position.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Requires BS in Computer Science Aerospace Engineering or other engineering-based technical degree and appropriate certifications plus 5 7 years of related experience or a minimum of 8 years of experience directly working with Pressure Systems (hydraulics / pneumatics).

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
o Experience in Electronic hardware maintenance modification and repair.
o Experience working with training simulators preferably using pressure systems.
o Experience using pressure regulators cylinders relief valves and certified breathing air standards.
o Fabrication skills with engineering instructions and sometimes without.
o Ability to operate tools both power and hand tools.
o The ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to professionally represent the MSOC organization.
o Highly motivated individual willing to learn and apply new concepts tools hardware and software.
o Excellent verbal and written communication skills focusing on technical content.
o Strong personal initiative.
o Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
o Must have a creative mindset that can be applied to troubleshooting and developing innovative solutions to technical problems.
o Leadership skills. Proven ability to provide technical coordination to a small team of engineers/specialists to meet project goals.

DESIRED SKILLS:
o Understanding of human spaceflight requirements.
o Knowledge of the NASA JSC MCC Mission Training Center and SVMF subsystems.
o Knowledge of IT systems (hardware software networks) and applications.
o Understanding of IT Security policies.
o Understanding of network and system architectures and means of detecting IT security issues during system development and integration.
o Familiarity with system Reliability Maintainability and Availability (RMA) concepts and implementations.
o Familiarity with the hardware development lifecycle and agile development practices including the use of Agility.
o Experience with ServiceNow or a similar ITIL workflow toolset.
o Experience with use of Microsoft Office suite of applications.
o Experience with the use of Microsoft SharePoint
o Certified forklift crane manlift operator and trained in fall protection safety or the ability to be trained for these activities.
