Job Summary
Required Skills:
- Bachelors degree in Data Science Mathematics Statistics Computer Science Operations Research Engineering or related quantitative field
- 13 years of experience in data analytics data science or business intelligence environments
- Experience collecting cleansing organizing and analyzing structured and unstructured data
- Python or R
- SQL
- Microsoft Excel (advanced functions pivot tables data modeling)
- Experience building dashboards or visualizations using tools such as:
- Power BI
- Tableau
- Qlik
- Ability to interpret financial or operational data and translate findings into clear visual products
- Experience documenting analytical methodologies and maintaining reproducible workflows
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for presenting analysis to non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work in a DoD or regulated data environment with attention to data integrity and auditability
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
Desired Skills:
- Experience working with Navy ERP SAP-based systems Advana or other DoD financial systems
- Familiarity with DoD Financial Management Regulation (FMR) or Navy Working Capital Fund environments
- Experience supporting financial analytics cost accounting or budget execution reporting
- Knowledge of data governance data quality controls and validation methodologies
- Exposure to operations research techniques (regression forecasting optimization Monte Carlo simulation)
- Experience working with asset or inventory data analytics
- Familiarity with dashboard development for executive-level reporting
- Experience in process automation or data pipeline development
- Prior Navy NAVWAR or NIWC experience
- Position supports cross-functional teams within Finance Corporate Strategy Total Force Management and Accountable Property Office environments.
- Work may include development of dashboards forecasting models audit-support analytics and executive briefing products.
- The role requires strong analytical rigor and the ability to present findings clearly to audiences ranging from junior analysts to senior leadership.
- Some travel may be required in support of NIWC Pacific initiatives as outlined in the SOW.
- This position may require access to financial systems controlled unclassified information (CUI) and compliance with OPSEC and cybersecurity requirements.
