DescriptionThe Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of South Florida (USF) is actively recruiting to fill one open academic position within the division of Gynecologic Specialty Services. This board-eligible/certified fellowship-trained minimally invasive gynecologic surgeon will join our growing busy division. Preference will be given to a candidate with academic experience and expertise to help grow the Gyn Specialty Services division and assist with establishing a MIGS fellowship. However new graduates are also welcome to apply and must be both comfortable and proficient in complex benign gynecology dedicated to quality patient care and have an interest in clinical research. The goal of the Gynecologic Specialty Services Division is to encompass faculty with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience and complementary skills. The primary focus of the MIGS subspecialist will be the clinical care of endometriosis fibroids and chronic pelvic pain patients at USF supervision and teaching of fellows OBGYN residents and medical students and conducting of clinical research. Clinical responsibilities include office-basedprocedures and gynecologic surgery.
Responsibilities- TEACHING: Teach medical student and residents by lecture rounds and clinical activity in patient office and labor and delivery and the operating suite.
- CLINICAL: Provide general gynecologic care including minimally invasive gynecologic surgery in the inpatient and outpatient settings.
- OTHER DUTIES: General administration duties that include documenting and reviewing patient chart.
- Responsible to a Chair or other appropriate higher-level administrator of a State for teaching research service and related administrative activities.
- Responsible for academic advising and related activities. May represent the university college/school or department.
QualificationsMINIMUM:
- Doctoral/Medical degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstratedrecord of achievement in teaching academic research and service.
- Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Associate or Full Professor.
- For Associate/Full Professor - Normally will have produced creative work professional writing or research in refereed and otherprofessional journals and be a recognized authority in the field of specialization.
- Candidate must be Board Certified/Board Eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology. Candidate must also have completed an AAGL MIGS fellowship. Special attention will be given to graduates of programs with focus on chronic pelvic pain.
- Must hold or be eligible for a full unrestricted Florida Medical License or foreign equivalent required. To perform this position the candidatewill need to obtain and maintain a full un-restricted FL Medical License maintain credentials in the USF Health faculty practice plan and bea medical staff member in good standing at the hospitals he/she is assigned to perform clinical duties. The candidate will participate in theteaching of residents fellows and medical students in clinical medicine.
