Summary
Due to retirement the Undergraduate Student Services Office in the Debbie and Jerry Ivy College of Business at Iowa State University invites applications for a Student Services Specialist III (Course Offerings Specialist).
This position leads the development of the Colleges full schedule of business course offerings each term including enrollment analysis demand forecasting prerequisite rule creation and monitoring and scheduling logistics. The specialist partners closely with the Colleges six department chairs and the Registrars curriculum management team to guide and support departmental course planning. Responsibilities also include direct involvement in new student orientation registration coordination of external feeder course availability and high-priority strategic schedule planning enrollment management and course reporting for business majors and non-business majors requiring Ivy coursework.
This person will also support the Ivy advising teams in communication with and registration of business students (undergraduate and graduate) along with directly contributing to the Ivy Undergraduate Student Services office activities as an active team member.
The successful candidate will have the ability to successfully communicate professionally in verbal visual virtual and written formats; possess excellent computer and technical data analysis skills and knowledge to navigate analyze utilize and produce related data/reports; along with strong interpersonal and customer service skills. The candidate should also possess knowledge of student development a strong problem-solving acumen the capability to resolve conflicts and the ability to work well within a team and with varying groups of individuals in roles across ISUs campus.
Example of Duties
Lead the development coordination and delivery of the Colleges full course schedule each term providing data-informed guidance to department chairs to support effective course planning and student progress toward timely degree completion.
Analyze historical and current enrollment retention graduation and program of study data to identify trends forecast demand and optimize course offerings and section availability.
Utilize systems such as Workday and EMS Room Scheduling to create and maintain course offerings manage prerequisite rules ensure accurate reporting and align with university scheduling processes.
Oversee course and room scheduling in collaboration with Graduate Programs the Registrars curriculum management team Facilities Planning and Management and scheduling partners across the university.
Develop and maintain internal data processes; generate clear accurate semester and ad-hoc reports on enrollment academic programs and completion for college leadership.
Support semester registration and orientation processes troubleshoot complex enrollment issues and provide guidance to advisors faculty and staff on scheduling policies and procedures.
Communicate course updates changes and cancellations to relevant stakeholders.
Provide training on enrollment and scheduling data interpretation and offer administrative registration support to Graduate Programs as needed.
Participate in staff meetings professional development and College and University committees and events.
Perform other duties as assigned in support of the College and Undergraduate Student Services.
