Position Summary:
Responsible for interfacing directly with end-users and vendors to assess recommend implement and support network solutions. Supports the development and maintenance of network documentation. Evaluates and recommends new technologies as they relate to the businesses network strategy.
Essential Functions:
- Actively participates in network troubleshooting and support. Documents network architectures support procedures and run books.
- Builds and maintains relationships with end users and other IT departments to understand business needs and network requirements.
- Supports department staff in the analysis solution and documentation of network issues and problems.
- Works with management to develop communicate implement and maintain network policies standards and procedures.
- Serves as network subject matter expert on multifunctional project teams within IT and across lines of business as required to support business needs.
- Solicits feedback and provides input on department best practices and actively seeks out opportunities for improvement by following industry practices.
- Continually enhances knowledge of Network engineering and company standards in order to achieve departmental success and professional growth.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Associates degree (preferred) in Engineering Mathematics Computer Science or equivalent technical experience.
Licenses/Certification:
- CCNA Network or other industry recognized certifications preferred. Current or previous certifications acceptable.
- Azure and/or GCP certifications preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 4 years experience as a network engineer in a health care facility or large-scale inter-network environment. Experience with Aruba and Cisco switches Cisco routers and SDWan Fortinet and Meraki preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Established capabilities utilizing technical tools related to network engineering including:
- Configuration of Cisco IOS Aruba Arista Meraki and Fortinet equipment.
- Knowledge of topologies such as ethernet and wireless 802.11 and 802.16.
- Network management and configuration utilizing platforms such as Logic Monitor SolarWinds and Fortimanager.
- Supporting routed networks including OSPF EIGRP BGP and static routes.
- Performing protocol analysis and problem determination
- Effective oral and written communication skills required to participate in planning and troubleshooting discussions and to interact daily with end users to understand and provide solutions to business problems.
- Ability to deliver solutions that are clearly defined systematically executed and results oriented. Adherence to the organizations project and change management processes and standards is required.
- Current working knowledge of MS Office 365 products for daily support and communication.
- Capable of working independently and as part of a team delivering appropriate and timely feedback to senior team members and management as required
