Job Summary
A highly respected independent co-educational school in Chelmsford is seeking an experienced and ambitious Director of Sixth Form Business to lead its growing Business provision. The school has a strong academic profile excellent university progression rates and a culture that encourages leadership enterprise and independent thought.
Business is one of the most popular A-Level subjects within the Sixth Form with students regularly progressing to leading universities to study Business Management Economics Finance and related disciplines.
The Role
This is a senior academic leadership role combining strategic oversight of Sixth Form Business with high-quality A-Level teaching. You will be responsible for curriculum design academic standards and the continued growth of the subject within the post-16 offer.
Your responsibilities will include:
Teaching A-Level Business
Leading curriculum development and assessment planning
Monitoring student progress and driving examination performance
Supporting university and apprenticeship applications
Developing links with local businesses and guest speakers
Contributing to whole-school Sixth Form strategy
Leadership time is built into the role to allow for strategic development and enrichment planning.

Who Were Looking For
The successful candidate will:
Hold QTS or equivalent qualification

Have previous leadership experience (Head of Subject or similar)

Independent school experience is desirable but not essential for a strong leadership candidate.
