Job Summary
The Cloud & Infrastructure department is responsible for the core technology backbone that powers our SCADA and DataLayer ecosystem. We design build and operate the foundational platforms that keep thousands of renewable plants reliable secure and scalable.
Our team covers the full spectrum of infrastructurefrom cloud services to onpremise systemsbut this role will join the OnPremise Engineering group the unit that ensures the performance availability and automation of the platforms deployed physically across our global fleet of sites.
About the role:
We are looking for an IT Infrastructure Systems Engineer to help evolve and modernize the onpremise infrastructure powering Horizon our SCADA and DataLayer ecosystem. Most of our systems run on physical and virtual servers hosted inhouse and we are actively transitioning them toward InfrastructureasCode automated provisioning and new hardware platforms.
Your primary responsibility will be to maintain and improve our current infrastructure redefine our automated SCADA deployment pipeline and support the reliability of our internal DataLayer services. The role is highly handson with a strong focus on OS lifecycle virtualization observability deployment tooling and hardware/firmware management.
This is not a cloudnative or Kubernetesfocused SRE position. While we use some cloud services the core of your work revolves around Windows Server and Linux infrastructure PowerShelldriven automation HyperV and Proxmox virtualization and the modernization of our deployment workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Optimize & Maintain Infrastructure Manage and improve on-premise servers virtualization storage networking and OS lifecycle.
- Deployment Automation Redesign and maintain automated SCADA deployment pipelines using TFS/Azure DevOps Server and PowerShell.
- Virtualization & On-Prem Platforms Operate Hyper-V and Proxmox environments maintaining VM templates golden images and provisioning flows.
- Observability & Monitoring Maintain and extend monitoring with Grafana Prometheus WMI and native OS integrations to improve operational reliability.
- Internal Tools & DataLayer Support Develop scripts and small utilities in PowerShell (or Python/Go/C when needed) to support internal services.
- Lifecycle Security & Reliability Manage OS hardening patching firmware BIOS provisioning and maintain operational runbooks and troubleshooting guides.

Qualifications
- 57 years in Systems Administration and System Engineering or similar roles.
- Strong experience with Windows Server & Linux administration and troubleshooting.
- Solid experience with HyperV and/or Proxmox virtualization environments.
- Strong PowerShell scripting and automation skills (preferred language for this role).
- Experience building deployment automation pipelines using TFS/Azure DevOps Server.
- Solid understanding of networking (VLANs routing firewalls DNS).
- Experience with monitoring tools (Grafana Prometheus SNMP WMI).
Experience maintaining custom in-house systems and services.
