POSITION SUMMARY
The Student Central Drop-Off Site Leadprovides essential operational and supervisory support for the districts central student drop-off location ensuring the safe and efficient transition of students from transportation services to authorized caregivers. This role is responsible for enhancing the educational experience for students and staff by managing the daily intake of students who cannot be released at their scheduled bus stops and must be transported to a central location. Key responsibilities include ensuring active supervision maintaining accurate arrival and pickup records and coordinating all communication with caregivers to guarantee student safety and adherence to district policies. The Coordinator serves as a vital liaison between the drop-off program and school leadership requiring strong organizational skills proactive problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining a professional environment during unpredictable situations. This commitment aligns with Framingham Public Schools high expectations for achievement equal access to quality instruction academic proficiency for all students and closing the achievement gap among subgroups within the schools.

- Operate and acquire skills in computer software including Google Workspace and student information systems.
- Plan coordinate and participate in ongoing professional and staff development related to mental health and special education.
- Maintain regular punctual attendance to ensure consistent department operations and student support.

I.Strategic Leadership & Vision
- Support the districts commitment to providing a safe and welcoming environment for all students while maintaining the high expectations for achievement and equity established by Framingham Public Schools.
- Provide feedback to the Executive Director of Finance and Operations and school leadership on the effectiveness of central drop-off policies and recommend proactive improvements for student safety.
- Maintain a proactive reflective and solution-focused approach to supporting the program during unpredictable situations.
II. Program Design & Implementation
- Coordinate with transportation dispatch to respond to incoming students and ensure their safe movement from school buses to the designated indoor location.
- Provide a safe and calming experience for students on-site facilitating simple enrichment activities designed to keep studentsincluding those with emotional or behavioral needsengaged and regulated while awaiting pickup.
- Utilize a trauma-informed lens to manage the daily intake of students who could not be released at their scheduled stops ensuring their social and emotional well-being is prioritized.
- Identify frequent drop-off patterns and follow up with school leaders to plan necessary interventions for students and families.
III. Compliance Regulatory & Legal Oversight
- Respond to and document all emergency situations appropriately and in strict alignment with district regulations and safety protocols.
- Perform all duties with an acute awareness of district requirements state and federal laws and Framingham Public Schools policies.
Management & Collaboration
- Conduct outreach to families to confirm student locations and ensure prompt collection while communicating transportation policies clearly and professionally.
- Collaborate with colleagues transportation staff and district leaders to ensure seamless operations and student support.
- React professionally and objectively to unpredictable situations including students who may exhibit behavioral crises or difficulty controlling behavior.
- Supervise the safe and professional hand-off of students to authorized guardians at pickup time.

- Ability to lift at least 20 lbs (e.g. books supplies or medical/adaptive equipment).
- Must see and hear on a continuous basis to ensure student safety in a dynamic environment.
- Works in a school setting with moderate to high noise levels; requires the ability to maintain focus amidst frequent interruptions and multiple demands.
- Directly responsible for the safety and well-being of students; includes potential exposure to bodily fluids or pathogens.
- May be required to have physical interaction with students who have difficulty controlling behavior; must be prepared for the possibility of unintentional injury and able to react professionally during behavioral crises.
- May be required work outdoors in various weather conditions including heat cold rain and snow to assist with student drop-off and pickup at transportation vehicles
- Ability to navigate quickly across various terrains such as asphalt sidewalks and uneven surfaces to safely reach buses and respond to student needs or emergencies

- This position is classified as Non-Exempt (Hourly).
- This is a ten (10) month seasonal position during the school year.
- Program Schedule: Monday through Friday 4:00 PM 6:00 PM. Occasional extended hours may be required to accommodate late student pickups. This role offers the opportunity for a shared schedule (split-shift) among interested staff members.
- Covered under Framingham School Committee Contract.
