Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
- Draft review and negotiate complex commercial agreements with clients vendors and strategic partners to enable business growth while mitigating risk.
- Advise business leaders sales management and product teams on commercial legal and regulatory issues ensuring alignment among business objectives legal and regulatory requirements and enterprise policies.
- Assist in updating and streamlining of legal templates and documentation to improve usability clarity and consistency across the business as necessary.
- Collaborate with Information Security Product Technology Sales and other Business Units to support strategic initiatives and resolve legal issues efficiently.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (or equivalent law degree) and bachelors degree and admission or eligibility to practice law in at least one jurisdiction in the Americas region.
- 58years of post-qualification experience in commercial law with exposure to technology and/or financial services.
- Proven ability to draft and negotiate complex commercial technology contracts for global businesses.
- Experience advising business teams on commercial legal and regulatory issues.
- Excellent communication skills including the ability to translate complex legal concepts for diverse non-legal audiences and work independently in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Admissionor eligibilityto practice inNewfoundland & Labradoror Ontario.
- Familiarity with (or strong desire to learn) data privacy and cybersecurity law AI technology and emerging legal issues in technology commercialization.
- Experience using contract lifecycle management (CLM) platforms.
- Background in financial services fintech or highly regulated industries.
This position willbe located inSt. Johns or Toronto and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment (at least three (3) days a week in-office) subject to change providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates.
