Job Summary

CNC Programmer/Operator

A CNC Programmer/Operatorcombines technical programming skills with hands-on machine operation to create precise components from blueprints. Key responsibilities include creating G-code using CAM software setting up lathes or mills optimizing feeds/speeds and troubleshooting to meet quality standards. This role requires expertise in reading blueprints utilizing precision tools and ensuring high-quality production output.

Key Responsibilities:

Programming: Develop test and optimize CNC machine programs (G-code) using CAD/CAM software to manufacture parts.
Setup: Prepare and set up machines (mills lathes etc.) by loading tools securing fixtures and setting work offsets.
Operation & Monitoring: Operate machines monitor production for errors and adjust settings for optimal speed and tool life.
Quality Control: Inspect finished parts using calipers micrometers and gauges to ensure they meet blueprint specifications.
Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance clean machines and troubleshoot mechanical or programming issues.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Technical Skills: Proficient in CNC programming CAD/CAM software (e.g. Mastercam CamWorks) and interpreting complex blueprints.
Machine Knowledge: Solid understanding of CNC machine tools cutting tools materials and G-code.
Physical & Safety: Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy materials; strict adherence to safety protocols (PPE).
Education/Experience: High school diploma often with a certificate or associate degree in machining/engineering.
