Job Summary

The Vice President for Enrollment Strategy at Calvin University serves as the universitys chief enrollment officer and operates at the intersection of strategy mission data and relationships. The role is inherently collaborative requiring sustained engagement with senior leaders faculty staff and external partners to advance Calvin Universitys enrollment goals in alignment with its Reformed Christian mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive multi-year enrollment strategy aligned with Calvin Universitys mission and financial goals.
  • Oversee undergraduate transfer and graduate recruitment strategies.
  • Direct financial aid leveraging models to optimize net tuition revenue.
  • Lead predictive modeling enrollment forecasting and CRM optimization.
  • Partner closely with marketing on brand positioning digital strategy and campaign ROI.
  • Lead and develop admissions financial aid and enrollment operations teams.
  • Manage budgets and allocate resources effectively.
  • Represent Calvin University at both internal and external events conferences and community events.

Experience/Skills

  • Significant progressive leadership experience in enrollment management admissions or student recruitment.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement enrollment strategies that achieve measurable results.
  • Meaningful experience expanding enrollment across new markets or learner populations with an understanding of emerging enrollment opportunities.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a high performing enrollment and sales organization setting clear goals expectations and accountability while maintaining a relational mission-centered approach.
  • Exceptional storyteller who can craft and share a compelling narrative for prospective students families alumni and partners.
  • Demonstrated sophistication in financial aid strategy pricing discount management and net tuition revenue modeling in close partnership with finance and senior leadership.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to present effectively to internal and external stakeholders and to bring clarity to complex data and decisions.
  • Proven leadership in hiring supervising and developing professional staff including elevating professionalism setting clear expectations and providing training and accountability.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across divisions with senior leadership to achieve institutional goals.
  • Experience managing departmental budgets and making data-informed decisions.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to identify new markets assess ROI and pursue innovative enrollment initiatives under financial constraints.
  • Capacity to foster trust and credibility within diverse communities and across organizational cultures.

Required Qualifications

  • Masters degree from regionally accredited institution doctoral degree welcomed but not required.
  • Additional training or experience in sales data analytics business process improvement or organizational leadership is desirable.
  • Proven ability to lead people strategy and resources effectively
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in higher education or related complex organizational environment.
  • Deep understanding of and commitment to the reformed theological mission vision and values of a Christian liberal arts university with the ability to integrate faith and servant leadership into professional practice.
  • A living and active personal Christian faith demonstrated through commitment to Christ and active involvement in a church community with strong preference for Reformed tradition.
