Overview
The Clinical Coordinator will serve the Sonography Program at New York School of Career and Applied Studies in all clinical education capacities as well as provide scan lab and didactic instruction.
Responsibilities
- Correlate and coordinate clinical education and evaluate its effectiveness
- Evaluate the progress of student performance in the clinical area
- Work with the Program Director in coordinating clinical education
- Supervise student performance at clinical affiliates
- Manage the clinical courses re: assignment of sites to students grading attendance logsheets evaluations etc
- Entering grades into university learning management system
- Develop student objectives and evaluation tools for clinical education
- Perform competency based clinical evaluations
- Maintain student clinical assignments and attendance
- Act as resource to sonography students
- Responsible for schedule of student clinical assignments to match established JRDMS guidelines
- Assist in continuous program assessment
- Instruct specific units of teaching as necessary both in the didactic and scan lab setting
- Maintain current knowledge of program policies procedures and student progress
- Pursue continuing education in profession practice and instructional methodology
- Cooperate with the Program Director in periodic review and revision of clinical course material
- Provide training and education to clinical preceptors
- Provide advisement to students
- Provide advisement and training to clinical supervisors
- Identify and contract with clinical affiliates for sonography clinical education
- Duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education/Experience
- Associates Degree required Bachelors Degree preferred.
- Hold appropriate professional credentials if applicable.
- Previous teaching experience preferred.
- Minimum 2 years sonography scanning work experience preferred.
- ARDMS registry in Abdomen and/or OBGYN required. Vascular a plus.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

- ARDMS registry in Abdomen and/or OBGYN required. Vascular a plus.
Travel
- To clinical sites as assigned.
- Clinical site visit schedule to be created together with the Program Director.
