We are seeking a Project Controller for our client in the technical engineering industry to oversee financial and governance aspects across capital projects while ensuring cost discipline schedule transparency and driving digital transformation in project reporting and analytics.
This role partners closely with Project Managers and senior engineering leadership giving you visibility across strategic capital investments and long-term terminal development plans.
What You’ll Be Responsible For:
Portfolio Governance & Budget Control
- Ensure projects align with the approved CAPEX master plan
- Lead budget tracking scope change control and funding approvals (PTB process)
- Monitor the 3-year capital and maintenance roadmap
- Identify bottlenecks and escalate risks to maintain execution velocity
- Support CAPEX prioritization within approved spending thresholds
Financial Performance & Forecasting
- Develop and track S-Curves (Planned vs. Actual) across projects
- Manage Estimate at Completion (EAC) forecasting and carry-over budgets
- Validate cost-efficiency and engineering savings initiatives
- Ensure system alignment between financial and project tracking platforms
Reporting & Compliance
- Consolidate and manage the Monthly CAPEX Dashboard
- Oversee labor cost tracking and financial journal accuracy
- Ensure governance compliance for project approvals and budget transfers
Digital & Analytics Leadership
- Drive automation of reporting workflows
- Leverage tools such as Qlik / Looker Studio for predictive insights
- Act as local Superuser for the Project Management system (PTB)
- Upskill Project Managers in digital adoption and data-driven decision-making
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Project Management or related discipline
- 5–8 years of experience in project planning or project controls within Oil & Gas or similar heavy industrial environments
- Strong familiarity with brownfield project execution and full project lifecycle management
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and project planning software (e.g. Primavera P6 or equivalent)
- Experience developing structured progress reporting methodologies
- Working knowledge of analytics platforms such as Qlik
