Role Overview
As a Charging & Mediation Engineer you will design configure validate and support advanced telecom charging and mediation solutions with a strong focus on Nokia NCC.
You will ensure seamless integration across Charging Mediation BSS/OSS systems and support end-to-end charging workflows across both legacy and next-generation 5G environments.
Key Responsibilities
Charging (Nokia NCC)
- Configure and validate tariffs offers bundles (Voice/SMS/Data)
- Design and implement charging logic rating models business rules balance management flows
- Manage subscriber lifecycle & provisioning flows
- Perform SIT/UAT and integration testing
- Troubleshoot issues using logs traces Diameter (Gy/Gx/Sy)
- Support migration from legacy OCS/CS platforms to Nokia NCC
- Ensure NCC deployment & scalability in Kubernetes/containerized environments
Mediation
- Design and maintain mediation workflows: decoding validation enrichment aggregation routing
- Handle high-volume CDR delivery to Billing Charging RA Interconnect & Analytics systems
- Support real-time processing for modern Autonomous Networks
- Produce HLD/LLD technical documentation
- Collaborate with BSS Core PCRF & Operations teams
Mandatory Skills
Core Charging Expertise
- Advanced knowledge of Nokia Converged Charging (NCC)
- Strong understanding of Diameter interfaces (Gy Gx Sy)
- Experience with real-time / online charging systems
- Hands-on with Nokia Charging Configurator & microservices architecture
Mediation Expertise
- Strong telecom mediation background (CDR processing correlation normalization)
- Experience delivering data to Billing & Charging systems
- Exposure to 3GPP 4G/5G Core IMS environments
Cloud & Architecture
- Kubernetes Docker Microservices Cloud-Native architectures
- OSS/BSS architecture knowledge
- Familiarity with Kafka CI/CD Ansible Terraform
Technical Skills
- Linux/Unix
- Shell / Python scripting
- Database knowledge: Oracle PostgreSQL Cassandra (preferred)
Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Telecommunications Computer Science Engineering or related field
- 510 years of telecom charging & mediation experience
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Nice to Have
- Automation tools (Robot Framework Jenkins CI/CD)
- Knowledge of 5G network slicing API-based charging models next-gen monetization
