We are seeking a charismatic and highly organizedHost/Hostessto lead our front-door operations. Your primary goal is to provide a warm welcome manage the flow of the dining room and ensure guests feel valued from the moment they walk in until they depart. You will act as the traffic controller for the restaurant balancing guest wait times with server capacities.
Key Responsibilities- Guest Reception:Greet every guest with a genuine smile manage thewaitlist and provide accurate wait-time estimates.
- Seating Management:Escort guests to tables using afair rotation systemto ensure servers are not overwhelmed and the dining room remains balanced.
- Reservation Oversight:Manage bookings through platforms likeOpenTable or Resy confirming special requests and coordinating large parties.
- Flow Control:Monitor the pulse of the dining room identifyingdirty tablesfor busser attention and anticipating upcoming table turns.
- Communication:Handle incoming phone calls forreservations and inquirieswith professional etiquette.
- Atmosphere Maintenance:Keep the entryway and menu areaclean and organized and assist with light tasks like rolling silverware during lulls.
- Experience:Previous experience in a customer-facing role (hospitality or retail) is preferred but not always required.
- Interpersonal Skills:Exceptional verbal communication and the ability to remaincalm under pressureduring busy rushes.
- Physical Stamina:Ability to stay on your feet for the duration of a shift and navigate a crowded dining room quickly.
- Professionalism:Polished appearance and a consistentlypositive attitude.
