Performs various support functions in research laboratory using proper procedures to avoid the risk of laboratory-acquired infection or sample-to-sample contamination. Maintains and cleans equipment and the facility; maintains and restocks supplies; and maintains computer database. Works under direct supervision. Attention to detail is essential while dealing with multiple tasks. Flexibility is important in adjusting to frequent changes in work volume.

Seeking a Research Assistant for part-time (8hrs/week minimum additional hours negotiable) work in Mayo Clinic Hematology clinical research. Position would be ideal for an undergraduate student or medical student. Job duties include management of clinical databases (e.g. adding new cases and performing data extraction) and if experienced occasional laboratory experiments. Multiple opportunities to be included in clinical research publications for the appropriate candidate. Must be motivated organized and a self-starter. Basic proficiency in excel required. This position requires at least a one-year commitment.
This is a limited tenure position that has been approved for one year that may have the possibility of turning into a regular position.

Requires a high school diploma with coursework in mathematics and relevant sciences. Must have previous work experience that demonstrates organizational skills attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
