Job Summary
Job Summary:As a Pastry Cook at Citizen House you will play a crucial role in the preparation and execution of high-quality pastries desserts bread and baked goods in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a high-volume setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Production and Preparation:Execute the preparation of pastries desserts breads and baked goods following established recipes and efficiently to meet the demands of high-volume dining periods while maintaining quality standards.
Execution: Prepare pastry/dessert items during service ensuring quality and presentation controls are met to the standard effectively with the kitchen team to deliver items in a timely and efficient manner while maintaining a clean and organized preparation space.
Team Collaboration:Collaborate with the chef and kitchen team(s) to ensure smooth coordination between savory and pastry offerings. Communicate effectively with other cooks and kitchen staff to streamline production processes.
Quality Assurance:Assist in the monitoring of food quality taste and presentation to meet the restaurants standards. Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized kitchen adhering to health and safety regulations.
Ingredient Preparation:Measure weigh and assemble ingredients for pastry in inventory management and stock rotation to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
Training and Development:Participate in ongoing training sessions to enhance pastry skills and stay current with industry trends. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment by supporting colleagues and sharing knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Pastry Cook or in a similar role preferably in a high-volume restaurant
- Culinary education or relevant training in pastry arts is a plus
- Basic understanding of pastry techniques baking principles and kitchen safety
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
