The Role

We are currently working with a client that is seeking to engage a a suitably qualified and experienced Automation Tester in its Enterprise Testing and Analysis (ETA) team to perform automated and Application Programming Interface (API) tests as part of its Business As Usual (BAU) testing activities. The Automation Tester will test a range of systems and applications under sustainment within an existing automation framework. The tester will develop automated test scripts/suites to perform API testing ensuring the testing process aligns with the AEC testing framework. The automated test scripts should be based on business objectives functional requirements acceptance criteria and/or service level requirements. The tester will execute test cases produce test reporting and may also need to write test plans and test strategy. The tester will work as part of an Agile delivery process.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely within Project test teams to develop test plans and execute and report against them. This will be achieved through working with the AEC Business stakeholders and project development teams.
  • Perform testing for the systems/applications under sustainment/BAU.
  • Implement and manage the development of automated test playbooks test scenarios and/or test scripts for systems/applications when changes/upgrades are made to them.
  • Engage and work closely with multiple agile delivery teams to understand the scope of changes/releases and estimate the testing efforts. Undertake automation testing activities including functional integration and regression testing for each Program Increment (PI).
  • Report and track the resolution of issues as they are found in automated testing.
  • Assist with issue triaging followed by retesting of the fixes.
  • Develop reporting dashboards to demonstrate the outcomes of the automated testing.
  • Create Test Summary Report (TSR) upon completion of testing.
  • Liaise with vendors clients business areas and IT Branch staff as required.
  • Advise the client on automation testing software.
  • Other tasks as required e.g. perform other duties as directed from time-to-time by Directors/Team Leaders or a delegate.

Required Skills

  • MUST BE AN AUSTRALIAN CITIZEN Ideally you have an NV1 or existing AGSVA security clearance.
  • 5 Years of test automation experience
  • Experience with engineered Open-Source test automation development using best practices and design patterns
  • A solid ability to deliver engineered automation rather than record and playback techniques
  • A solid understanding of OOP development practices and capability with C# or similar
  • An understanding of or experience in scripted languages such as NodeJS or Python
  • Demonstrable understanding of Selenium WebDriver HTML DOM structures Robust locator selection and programmatic REST based API automation
  • Understanding of or experience in test driven or behaviour driven development
  • Hands on experience developing Continuous Integration and Deployment pipelines using Azure DevOps
  • Demonstrated ability to solve technical problems and implement innovative solutions
  • Version control with GIT and a good understanding of branching and merging
  • Excellent relationship building and communication skills
