Job Summary
The Custodian I provides custodial and support services for all OMSI facilities activities and events. Custodial staff serve to help ensure that OMSI provides a clean safe and healthy environment for all guests and staff. This position is scheduled on Saturdays and Sundays 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m. 16 hours per week.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Custodial Duties:
- Performs general custodial services utilizing best practice for safety efficiency and environmental concerns;
- Cleans and stocks restrooms on a daily basis ensuring proper sanitary conditions and good appearance;
- Responsible for waste disposal throughout the OMSI campus including interior and exterior spaces;
- Supports OMSI departments with general custodial services.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Assists with setup and teardown of OMSI events and assist with office moves;
- Additional responsibilities as assigned by Facilities management.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Ability to adhere to confidentiality protocol and community agreements;
- Ability to pivot between individual and team work;
- Ability to model and support a positive team dynamic with paid and unpaid staff.
- Custodial Skills:
- Working knowledge with operating and maintaining custodial tools;
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve custodial-related issues;
- Ability to learn and follow safety and protocol regulations.
PREFERENCES:
- Proficient or native fluency in a second language (non-English).

- Prior custodial-related experience.
