Principal Mechanical Engineer (Building Services)

As our portfolio of work continues to expand our Building Engineering team in Canberra is looking to appoint a Principal Mechanical Engineer. Were seeking a highly skilled technical leader who thrives on delivering quality design solutions across a broad range of sectors.

How youll make a difference:

• Utilise your extensive mechanical design experience to deliver high-quality cost-effective outcomes across health defence transport data centre sports and other major building projects across ANZ.
• Lead mechanical design packages on key client projects taking ownership of technical delivery and providing rigorous design review to ensure excellence and compliance.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to drive quality across calculations specifications and detailed design documentation.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers supporting their technical development and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams and clients contributing to successful project outcomes and repeat business.

The qualities that help you thrive:

• Chartered Engineer with ACT professional engineer registration or transferrable RPEQ/RPEV registration. Equivalent recognition with a relevant professional body will also be considered.
• Ideally 1012 years experience in a Building Services consultancy or significant design experience as a Senior/Project Engineer in the Mechanical Contracting field.
• Proven record in technical design and project delivery while building and maintaining strong client relationships.
• Strong understanding of Building Services projects and Standards able to impart technical knowledge to clients junior engineers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience managing multiple technical projects simultaneously with demonstrable design expertise across diverse market sectors.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a passion for mentoring and developing junior engineers.

Due to the nature of our projects Australian Citizenship is required with current / previously held defence clearance highly regarded.
