Under the supervision and direction of the Assistant Director of the Leased Housing Adjustment Revenue and Reconciliation Unit with some latitude for independent initiative and judgment the Accountant L-01 will be responsible for working on any Section 8 payments related aspects and other projects.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
-Provide assistance in identifying the reason for missing payments to section 8 vendors as well as utility payments to section 8 tenants.
-Perform work in the preparation of payment breakdown sheet for NYCHA Executive adjustments to be completed.
-Ensure payments are being made to correct vendors.
-Perform complete check of keyed payments after cut-off date for any cancellations or corrections and submit such list to supervisor as necessary.
-Review a monthly HAP report received from I.T. to prevent any duplicate regular HAP payment made to the same vendor for the same period.
-Perform inquiries in Oracle to verify whether payments are reconciled or cancelled.
-Review QCU payment adjustments and work closely with the Vendor Change Unit on questions and corrections.
-Review Siebel Reports Check Tracking List for any returns
-Calculate accuracy of amounts with regards to current NYCHA share any Lease Renewal or Recertification.
-Review for reinstatement of relevant tenants to ensure payment will be made in Siebel.
-Create the Siebel Transactions Closed Out Report as needed.
-Check the Oracle Receivables to Customer Balance Detailed Report for variances between Oracle and Siebel.
-Participate in special projects as required.

Qualifications :
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university accredited by regional national professional or specialized agencies recognized as accrediting bodies by the U.S. Secretary of Education and by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) including or supplemented by 24 semester credits in accounting including one course each in advanced accounting and auditing; or
2. A valid New York State Certified Public Accountant license.
To be eligible for placement in Assignment Level II individuals must have in addition to meeting the minimum requirements at least one year of experience as an Accountant - Assignment Level I or at least two years of satisfactory full-time professional accounting or auditing experience.
