Provides functional advice and training to less experienced accountant positions. Works under limited direction.
As an Accounting Analyst III you will play a crucial role in providing expertise and mentorship in compiling analyzing and interpreting financial information for leadership decision-making. This role ensures compliance with requirements and regulations and is a resource for both internal and external customers.
Your responsibilities will also include looking for ways to optimize business processes through technology and automation improving efficiency and reducing costs. An eye for improvement opportunities with the ability to tackle sophisticated problems are keys to success!

Responsibilities/Expectations:
Performs assigned month-end activities including journal entries account reconciliations management reporting SEC reporting and variance analysis
Prepares maintains and develops schedules reports and analyses for internal/external customers
Provides requested documentation and clear explanations for audit processes
Participates in small projects with minimal mentorship and acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience
Processes and analyses significant amounts of data including issues and transactions
Other duties as assigned
Education/Years of Experience:
Required: Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related major with a strong accounting focus and minimum four (4) years experience in accounting in the energy industry
Other Requirements:
Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications
Promotes effective cross-functional communication and collaboration within the team and across departments
Strong analytical problem-solving and financial skills
Preferred: Familiarity with US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
Preferred: Revenue Accounting experience
