Reporting to the Operations Manager he/she supports the landfill operations while maintaining a
safe working environment. He/she is responsible for maintaining ongoing communication with the
Leadership Team. He/she will also be in contact with customers and contractors on site; as such
he/she must provide excellent customer service. He/she is responsible for working in compliance with
all Company policies and procedures as well as any related Health or Environment Regulations.
He/she is responsible for continuing and improving the sites safety culture.
Experience/aptitude in operating heavy equipment and general maintenance is required.
Duties
Ability to efficiently operate heavy equipment and landfill support equipment in a safe and
efficient manner.
Works with a team to accomplish landfill operations tasks.
Performs and communicates routine maintenance and safety inspections and on vehicles and
machines.
Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
Littler pick-up as needed.
Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
A typical schedule for this position is Monday-Friday with an occasional Saturday as needed.
Working Conditions:
Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting
pushing or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.
Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks
which require following basic safety precautions.
Ability to read understand follow and enforce safety procedures.
Minimum Job Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
