Role Overview
We are seeking an Assistant Vice President Product Strategy & Roadmap to lead the overall product vision quality and execution excellence across ConveGenius education and GovTech portfolio.
This role blends:
-Strategic Product Leadership
-Process & Delivery Governance
-Product Quality & Team Leadership
The AVP will be responsible for shaping product strategy strengthening the product management function institutionalizing quality standards and ensuring disciplined execution across teams. The role requires a strong systems thinker who can operate at both strategic and operational levels while building a high-performing product organization.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Product Strategy & Roadmap Leadership
Define and drive the long-term product vision and multi-year roadmap aligned with organizational goals.
Oversee the development of products that:
Improve learning outcomes for government school students.
Enable teacher effectiveness and capacity development.
Strengthen administrative and governance systems through data-driven insights.
Translate education system challenges into scalable technology-enabled solutions.
Ensure product roadmaps are impact-driven scalable and aligned with state and program priorities.
Review and approve major BRDs PRDs and strategic solution documents before development.
2. Product Quality & Solutioning Excellence
Drive high standards in product thinking problem framing and solution design.
Ensure:
Strong discovery practices (field research stakeholder consultations data-backed problem statements).
Well-structured BRDs/PRDs with clarity feasibility and impact alignment.
Robust acceptance criteria and clear solution articulation.
Review product outputs to ensure usability scalability and sustainability in low-resource environments.
Institutionalize templatization and best practices across documentation solutioning and workflows.
Establish quality benchmarks for feature releases and product iterations.
Continuously evaluate how products are performing in the field and ensure course correction where required.
3. Product Team Leadership & Capability Building
Lead and mentor a team of Product Managers and senior product leaders.
Strengthen product management capabilities across discovery prioritization and execution.
Conduct structured product reviews and roadmap reviews at regular intervals.
Drive accountability within the product team for sprint readiness documentation quality and delivery discipline.
Foster a culture of impact orientation user empathy and data-driven decision-making.
Support hiring onboarding and performance management of product team members.
4. Delivery Governance & Process Oversight
Ensure sprint processes across Product Tech and QA are functioning effectively.
Oversee:
Backlog hygiene and prioritization discipline.
Clear ticket creation and acceptance criteria.
Proper sprint planning and retrospective rigor.
Drive cross-functional alignment between Product Engineering QA Data and Program teams.
Strengthen JIRA governance compliance tagging and structured tracking mechanisms.
Ensure optimal utilization of development bandwidth through prioritization and pipeline visibility.
Support CAPEX/OPEX tagging discipline and structured governance for product investments.
5. Data & Impact Orientation
Define product-level KPIs aligned to learning outcomes teacher enablement and system efficiency.
Review dashboards and impact data regularly to guide product decisions.
Ensure strong integration of analytics into roadmap planning and iteration cycles.
Drive accountability for measurable product outcomes across states and programs.
Key Qualifications & Skills Required
Educational Qualification
Bachelors degree required; MBA / Public Policy / Education / Technology Management preferred.
Experience
10 years of experience in Product Management with at least 23 years in a leadership role.
Experience building and scaling digital platforms in EdTech GovTech or the development sector strongly preferred.
Proven experience leading and mentoring product teams.
