Job Summary

Responsibilities

Identify research evaluate and select suppliers that meet the organizations standards of price quality timing and reliability of supply. The career level Buyer will execute similar activities as the experienced level buyer but will also typically be involved with larger and/or more complex purchases and suppliers that have higher impact on the organizations products processes and budget. May coach and provide instruction to lower-level staff. Frequently reports to a Purchasing Supervisor or Purchasing Manager.

Qualifications

Career Level. Fully competent professional role. Requires in-depth knowledge and experience. Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective using existing solutions. Works independently; receives minimal guidance. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Represents the level at which career may stabilize for many years and/or conclude. Impact of work is primarily within site or country.
