Overview
Touros Lander College for Men is hiring a Finance Adjunct faculty member who is passionate about teaching undergraduate business students and who wishes to make a lasting impact on their futures. Adjuncts are responsible for instruction course preparation developing instructional materials student advisement grading and assessment as a member of the instructional team of a school or academic department. Classes are held on both our central Queens campus (Kew Gardens Hills) and in Brooklyn (Flatbush) on alternating days.
Responsibilities
- Teach an undergraduate semester-long course(s) in Finance including introductory and advanced courses.
- Maintain regularly scheduled office hours to consult with students concerning academic and career matters.
- Prepare and deliver lectures to undergraduate students.
- Prepare course materials including: syllabi exams homework assignments and handouts.
- Create a classroom environment where students feel comfortable participating and learning.
- Prepare students for assessments and provide helpful performance feedback.
- Keep up-to-date with advancements in the field and integrating new knowledge into curriculum.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- MS (Finance) M.B.A. C.F.A. or equivalent required.
- Minimum 5 years in the field and prior teaching experience required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Deep knowledge of corporate finance and financial markets and is comfortable expressing and combining theory and practice in a highly rigorous manner.
- Demonstrated ability to develop positive and cooperative relationships with students faculty and colleagues.
- Exceptional communication skills by effectively articulating complex ideas in a clear and engaging manner.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word Excel Power Point.
- Knowledge of the Bloomberg Terminal a plus.
