The Role: Senior Consultant - Industrial Development (Clusters and Partnerships)
The role exists to design and deliver sector-level programmes including industrial clusters industry platforms and public-private partnerships. It contributes to the business by addressing shared constraints and opportunities across value chains through localisation and supplier development initiatives. The main focus areas involve powering growth and sustainability in the industrial economy by translating industrial policy into practical delivery plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply 3 years of relevant experience in managing multi-stakeholder projects to support programme delivery.
- Design and implement industry-wide programmes such as sector strategies and public-private partnerships.
- Manage engagements with government DFIs industry bodies manufacturers and social partners.
- Plan and facilitate workshops working groups and governance forums to drive action and accountability.
- Analyse value-chain constraints and opportunities using structured problem-solving and data.
- Track project actions budgets and risks to ensure delivery on time and within scope.
- Guide junior colleagues and develop scalable tools templates and methodologies.
- Contribute to sector-level responses regarding productivity skills sustainability and market access.
About You
- Minimum Honours degree from a leading academic university (e.g. Economics Development Economics Engineering Geography Industrial Psychology Commerce).
- 3 years relevant experience managing multi-stakeholder projects.
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Positive energetic and solutions-focused with a drive for economic growth in South Africa.
- Independent thinker who can move comfortably from the boardroom to the factory floor.
- Intellectually curious and confident in phone presentation and facilitation communication.
- Understanding of commercial pressures and incentives.
