Job Description:
This job is responsible for ensuring operational data is fit for purpose defining controls and monitoring processes are in adherence to enterprise data management standards. Key responsibilities include triaging and remediating data incidents performing data analysis training new users and performing impact analysis stemming from data updates. Job expectations include helping in defining access and ownership of data by domain conducting quality control and overseeing data maintenance.
This role will specifically support Enterprise Customer Profitability (a.k.a. Profit) which is an enterprise application and authorized data source which produces risk adjusted profitability data for 210 MM customer accounts each month. The scope of Enterprise Customer Profitability spans the following lines of business.
- Retail and Preferred
- Merrill
- Private Bank
- Business Banking
- Global Commercial Bank
- Global Corporate and Investment Banking
- Global Markets
As a member of the PDM team this role will provide both technical and analytical support for Profit data on ECPAM (Enterprise Customer Profit Analytical Measurement). The role will partner closely with global teammates and assume responsibility for key outbound processes such as Cross Reference tables Householding and Customer Segmentation.
Responsibilities:
Ensures data is accurate complete and fit for performing data analyses through various testing procedures and data controls which help to identify business insights fit for purpose for a particular product set
Develops and executes on Enterprise Data Management policies and standards works across teams to ensure adherence serves as a key point of contact for all topics related to data compliance and manages operational elements of the (Enterprise Data Strategy Governance and Operations (EDSGO) relationship
Manages data related incidents and identifies communicates and resolves or escalates issues as needed. Data inquiries include questions related to data issues availability of data and potential sourcing alternatives to inform
Develops manages and executes on controls ensuring tracking monitoring and resolution of any control breaches with data platform
Partners with Business and Technology functions to drive the development of business and functional requirements documents and ensures strategic upstream resolution for data related incidents
Support change initiatives from requirements through testing and post-production validation
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to outbound processes
Respond to technology partner inquiries and provide business data insights through ad-hoc queries
Educate partners on data structures and relationships within the PAM suite
Maintain documentation and data lineage for sourcing through outbound processes
Skills:
Required Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in data analytics or related data management roles.
- Expert-level SQL skills with ability to design and optimize complex queries for large-scale datasets.
- Understanding of financial statements and profitability metrics.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple high-impact projects simultaneously.
- Prior experience as a contributing member on a project team including writing requirements test plans and executing test scripts.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience collaborating with global and cross-functional technology teams.
- Understanding of banking products.
- Experience in business partnering and consulting.
- Usage andfamiliarity with customer profitability and activity based (unit) costing concepts
Minimum Education
- Bachelors degree in Data Analytics Finance or related business field preferred
