About theopportunity:

An exciting opportunity has arisen to be a part ofAppletree service.Supporting the individualyoullbuild a nurturing relationship withthe person whilst gaining a rich understanding of them and how best to support.Collaboratingwith the dedicated teamyou will use coachingtrainingand practical advice to develop and improve autism practice.As an organisation we follow a stress reduction model of support ensuring a low stress environment is achieved.

In this role you will:

  • Beactivelyinvolved in service delivery minimum of 20 hours per week

  • Reporting to the Tayside Services ManagertheAppletree Practice Advisor will support the translation of theory into practice and support the embedding of learning that focuses on reducing stress supporting wellbeingand individual voice and choice

  • Support staff to completean SVQ relevant to their registration with the SSSC

  • Work collaboratively withtheservicesand our low arousal leadsto ensure the consistent application ofour low arousal approach.

  • Form an important part ofthe persons support network; liaising withthe persontheirfamily the widerteamand various stakeholdersto ensure the persons needs and goals are met.

About You:

The successful candidate will:

  • Havehigh levelofcontemporary knowledge and understanding of autism and autistic people and their families across the lifespan

  • Have understanding how traumaimpactson an individualslife

  • Haveautismpractice or lived experience with the knowledgeand abilitytotranslate andapplycomplextheoretical knowledgeinto practice.

  • Be committed to the elimination of restrictive practice and restraint.

  • Be a change maker always looking for ways to improve processes and service levels and to add value

  • SVQ 3 or working towards achieving this

  • Have the ability toapply a coaching model to practice development

  • Have experience of managing conflict and challenging situations
