We are seeking a talented individual to join our Financial Controllership team at Marsh. This role will be based in London. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

  • The UK Corporate Controller is responsible for a wide range of controllership activities within the region including coordinating and managing the month-end close project-related initiatives internal corporate transactions acquisition integration and providing financial analysis support to inform decision-making.
  • Supported by a small team the controller coordinates supports and consolidates reports from Divisional Controllers to produce comprehensive region-wide reports.
  • The role also involves delivering critical documents and presentations such as Audit Committee papers Fraud Risk Assessments and Accounting Judgment papers.
  • It is a leadership position responsible for overseeing financial reporting for all Servicing and Holding Companies within the UK along with Corporate P&L within the region.

We will count on you to:

  • Coordinate with Treasury Tax and other corporate functions to manage UK corporate transactions affecting all Holdco and servicing entities to be the go to person for all UK corporate transactions.
  • Be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial results for legal entities across all Holding and servicing entities in the region.
  • Oversight of all internal monthly US GAAP reporting for all corporate RCs that are in UK but not roll into local business Servicing entities analytics review including Marsh Corporate Services Ltd.
  • Oversee periodic review of intangible and investment impairment review for the region. Manage the lease accounting oversight including ARO updates in Leases Accounting (missing retirement obligations) and lease accounting paper
  • Treasury accounting oversight related to UK Holdco and servicing entities: Review treasury dividend proposals input financial data and recommendations into Dividend App coordinate approvals and manage dividend declarations and payments.
  • Oversee FX exposure reviews currency sale requests and coordinate settlements.
  • Review intercompany loan requests liaise with Treasury and Tax assess entity impact approve loans and prepare board papers for director approval.
  • Be responsible for producing ad hoc Board papers UK GAAP in relations corporate transactions loans and dividends approx. 70 dividends in 2024 USD 8.5bn
  • Review Transfer pricing oversight for UK Holdco and servicing entities. Manage and co-ordinate Transfer Pricing process for UK including Documentation and compliance.
  • Assist with the external audit request related UK Holdco and servicing entities
  • Manage key stakeholders who rely on the finance processes and reported numbers. Ensure that key stakeholders such as FP&A are aware of any changes to processes or accounting policy and communicate the impact of any change or finding.
  • Oversee delivery of all key responsibilities within the UK Controllership function including Representation Letters and Senior Accounting Officer Attestations. Ensure regional reporting complies with Payment Practices and Gender Pay Gap disclosure requirements.

What you need to have:

  • Bachelors degree in finance accounting economics or similar discipline required
  • Qualified Accountant preferably ACA; ACCA or ACMA
  • Significant experience in finance controllership within a large corporate company.
  • Ability to provide and oversee financial information for the region functions and infrastructure including firm wide initiatives.
  • Ability to lead and drive change within a transforming and matrixed organization streamline and standardize financial activities and procedures to improve efficiency
