| Short Description for Internal Candidates |
Is responsible for fulfilling customer requests for products and parts. Fulfilling customer requests will require detailed planning of production sequencing multiple production lines and capacity constrained machines as well as optimizing material availability. Maintaining customer service inventory levels addressing shortages and supporting product evolution are daily functions. This role is responsible for securing the necessary materials to meet the needs of our customers and the business
| Description for Internal Candidates |
- Fill in for the Materials Planner.
- Work with sales on coordinating customer orders for production to achieve on-time shipment and a high level of customer service.
- Update forecasts on an as needed basis based on demand input and design changes.
- Lead efforts to improve throughput with a focus on loading lead-time and optimizing plant capacity
- Review capacity by work-center and rebalance load to optimize customer service
- Work to align original acknowledge and promise dates with customer request dates
- Set up execution and maintenance of ordering parameters and MRP data.
- Monitor capacities and product line delivery performance and daily throughputs.
- Adjust forecasts and planning parameters as required including safety stocks reorder points minimum orders adherence with Vertiv guidelines
- Review and release manufacturing orders for sub-assemblies and finished goods
- Participate in daily production and planning meetings.
- Coordinate Engineering changes and product phase in and phase out.
- Daily coordination of information between production purchasing sales shipping and engineering.
- Represent the group in relevant meetings and act as a liaison
- Provide product availability and shipping information to sales and or customers as required
- Work with Customers and Sales Coordinators on scheduling of finished goods to meet customer expectations
- Generates daily weekly monthly metric reports
- Develop in-depth knowledge on products and critical operations
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications:(education experience level knowledge skills designations/certifications).
- BS is business administration or related field.
- 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment materials management or material planning function.
- Experience in an industrial high mix job shop environment
- Very proficient in spreadsheets MS Office.
- Hands on experience with calculating safety stocks reorder points (MIN/MAX) and forecasting and inventory turns.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and ability to work at different levels of the organization
- Experience with ERP / MRP systems
Preferred Qualifications:
- APICS or CPM certification
