We are seeking a talented and motivated Mechanical and Piping Estimator / Kalkulator:in to support our high-impact Life Sciences and Data Center projects in Frankfurt.
Role Overview
Mechanical and Plumbing Estimating & Budgeting: Develop conceptual budgets quantify construction documentation and provide accurate pricing from early design phases to final construction documents. Independently prepare cost estimates bid / tender proposals and financial analyses. Identify opportunities for Value Engineering alternatives.
Technical Expertise: Act as a subject matter expert in Mechanical & Plumbing systems ensuring technical accuracy in cost estimation and project scope. Ability to review and understand technical design documents and scope interfaces with other MEP systems (i.e. HVAC electrical fire alarm fire sprinkler and BMS/BAS & EPMS control systems)
Stakeholder Collaboration: Lead communications with MEP subcontractors to align expectations. Engage with internal team members trade partners equipment vendors owners and consultants to ensure alignment on project estimates scope and execution
Preconstruction Value Engineering and Risk Mitigation: Work with the preconstruction team to integrate MEP estimates into overall project costs identify cost-saving opportunities and provide value management solutions. Assess risks related to cost fluctuations lead times trade partners and materials
Procurement & Market Insight: Lead trade partner tendering and procurement effort assess market trends negotiate contracts (commercial terms) and select the most comprehensive and competitive offers. Prepare bid / tender packages ensure contract documentation accuracy and optimize procurement strategies
Design Coordination: Collaborate with design teams to capture project intent identify potential gaps ask critical questions and develop strategies to ensure project success
Role Requirements
Education: Apprenticeship or a relevant degree in engineering or a related field
Language: Fluency in German and English
Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. Proven experience in Mechanical & plumbing cost estimation for technology and/or Life Science (Pharmaceutical)sector projects (e.g. data centers life sciences advanced technology). Experience with local working norms and standards
Technical Skills: Experience in using software systems for construction cost calculations mass calculations CAD MS Office etc.
Workstyle: Strong problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented and structured approach. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a dynamic EU-wide team-oriented environment. Excellent communication skills with the ability to present cost breakdowns and proposals to clients and communicate well within project teams. Ability to manage multiple Preconstruction efforts and deadlines with strong organizational skills
