Barningham CEVC Primary Schoolare looking for a passionate and creative 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to join our fantastic team.
You will work under the guidance of teaching staff to assist in promoting the learning and personal development of the pupil assigned as outlined in their Education Health Care Plan. Experience of working with pupils with additional learning needs is essential including previous experience of impact within a classroom.
The role will involve 1:1 support for pupils predominantly in KS1 (Year 1 and 2) with some support in Early Years Foundation Stage. The role also includes a lunch duty within the school day.
Experienced teaching assistants are welcome to apply and job shares or part time candidates will be considered.
Currently this role is fixed term until August 2026 however there is a possibility of this role being extended into September 2026 based on our pupil intake in September 2026 for both Reception and Nursery.
The school was judged as Good in all areas by Ofsted (January 2025).

A small rural village primary school
We are a small rural village primary school serving the parishes of Barningham Coney Weston and Knettishall although a number of our children do come from out of catchment.
The school has a Voluntary Controlled Status under the diocese of St Edmundsbury.
The buildings date from 1859 with more modern additions and are set in attractive fenced grounds with two playgrounds grassed areas and gardens. We have a good-sized hall four classrooms a small library area and our own school kitchen providing hot meals at lunch time. The school is next to a playing field which we use for PE and after school clubs.
The school caters for children from EYFS to Year 6 including a recent Nursery (aged 3-11). We have a mixed Nursery/Reception Class a KS1 Class (Year 1 and 2) a Lower KS2 Class (Year 3 and 4) and an Upper KS2 Class (Year 5 and 6). Each class has their own class teacher as well as support from Teaching Assistants.
