| Job Description: | CASBR is a medium throughput collaborative center that facilitates a variety of research projects by preparing samples for MALDI-MSI analysis. Mass spectrometry imaging (MSI) is a novel technique that combines spatial information with mass spectra generating powerful insights into cancer biology neurodegenerative disease and developmental biology among other key research questions. This position will play a key role in facilitating sample preparation instrumental analysis and data processing. The successful candidate will contribute to high quality reproducible research through rigorous scientific practices and persistent creative problem-solving while working cooperatively with CASBRs technicians and collaborators. - Support CASBR Center research functions includingsample preparation instrumental analysis data analysis and presentation of results
- Section tissues using acryostat
- Prepare samples via enzyme digestion and/or matrix application usingHTX sprayersystems

| Required Qualifications: | - Bachelors degree in a biological chemical or related scientific discipline (or equivalent laboratory experience)
- Prior handson laboratory experience including basic laboratory techniques
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols accurately
- Critical thinking and situational awareness
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a research environment
- Strong organizational communication and documentation skills
- Interest in learning advanced analytical methods and contributing to collaborative research projects
