Position Overview
The Certified Pharmacy Technician supports pharmacists in the preparation packaging and distribution of prescription medications within a high-volume mail-order pharmacy environment serving Veterans nationwide. This role ensures medications are filled accurately safely and efficiently using both automated systems and manual processes.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare package label and dispense prescription medications for pharmacist verification
Fill and stock medications in automated dispensing equipment and storage areas
Operate pharmacy automation systems (autofill machines repackaging equipment A-frames etc.)
Maintain medication inventory rotate stock and monitor expiration dates
Use computer systems and scanners to select medications by drug name strength and NDC number
Assist with equipment cleaning and basic preventative maintenance
Follow safety procedures when handling medications and hazardous materials
Schedule
2nd Shift: 3:30 PM 12:00 AM
Monday Friday operations (overtime/holidays as needed)
Qualifications
Active Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or CPhT)
High School Diploma or GED
Basic math computer and typing skills
Ability to read write and speak English fluently
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand or sit for extended periods (8 10 hours)
Lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull carts when needed
Perform repetitive movements such as reaching stocking and scanning
Work Environment
Fast-paced high-volume mail-order pharmacy setting supporting Veterans across the U.S.
