Position Overview

We are seeking a Cloud Engineer to design implement and maintain secure cloud infrastructure supporting State Government applications. The selected candidate will build scalable environments in Azure or AWS while ensuring compliance with security and governance standards. This role requires hands-on experience provisioning infrastructure implementing network security controls and optimizing cloud performance. The ideal resource will collaborate with application teams to modernize legacy systems into cloud-native architectures. Experience working in compliance-driven environments is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deploy scalable cloud infrastructure using Azure or AWS services.
• Configure networking components including virtual networks subnets and security groups.
• Implement identity and access management controls using Azure AD or AWS IAM.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
• Monitor cloud performance and optimize resource utilization.
• Implement backup disaster recovery and high-availability solutions.
• Ensure compliance with state security and governance policies.
• Troubleshoot cloud deployment and connectivity issues.
• Maintain cloud architecture documentation and system diagrams.
• Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to support application deployments.

Required Qualifications

• 5 years of cloud engineering experience.
• Demonstrated experience implementing Azure or AWS infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience configuring IAM and network security.
• Experience implementing infrastructure automation tools.
• Strong understanding of cloud cost optimization strategies.
• Experience supporting enterprise environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills.
• Experience working within structured governance processes.
• Strong communication skills.
• Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting government cloud environments.
• Azure or AWS certification.
• Experience supporting hybrid cloud environments.
