Job Summary:
The State of Michigan is seeking a Project Manager 3 to provide oversight leadership accountability and project management for large strategic projects and programs with high visibility. This role involves ensuring consistency with the State of Michigan project management methodology (SUITE) performing long-term release planning interacting with project management teams escalating issues and exercising project quality control.
Location:Lansing Michigan United States
Responsibilities:
- Establish and monitor project controlling methods for cost quality and schedule.
- Provide planning staffing and reporting adhering to the State of Michigans SUITE Project Management Methodology and the Agencys project prioritization process.
- Direct and coordinate day-to-day activities tasks and deliverables required from the project team.
- Perform miscellaneous functions to contribute to the overall operation and objectives.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- 5 years of experience in project management.
- Thorough knowledge of Project Management principles concepts and practices.
- Thorough knowledge of system development methods.
- Knowledge of data infrastructure and governance basics.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to resolve conflicting high-priority requirements.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to gather and analyze facts draw conclusions define problems and suggest solutions.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Previous government experience.
- Experience in multiple applicable roles (project manager program manager coordinator executive etc.).
- Thorough knowledge of advanced concepts and basic operating principles of data communications and information systems hardware and software.
- Ability to conduct training and informational sessions.
- Ability to build consensus facilitate working sessions and negotiate solutions and alternatives.
- Ability to maintain favorable public relations and perform problem/issue resolution.
Special Considerations:
- Candidates must be located within 2 hours of Lansing MI at the time of submission.
- Hybrid work schedule: Onsite Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
- No remote-only option.

- 40 hours per week.
