Description of Work
This position is located at Craven Correctional Institution a Medium Custody Adult Male Felon Diagnostic Processing Center located in Vanceboro NC with an offender population of 850 and 360 staff.Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
This position is mainly responsible for assisting with processing newly admitted processors each month. This position will analyze and interpret legal commitments/documents medical data psychological data criminal history social history statistical information gathered from interviews and written documentation and develop effective treatment plans for offenders including recommendations for housing custody treatment and programs. Comprehend and abide by policy standard operating procedures emergency plans legal documents and other directives both written and verbal governing daily activities. Perform routine supportive counseling and crisis intervention functions to include suicide prevention recognizing abnormal behavior and taking appropriate action in accordance with established procedures.
Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelors degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience in testing or interviewing and/or counseling; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.EEO Statement
