Job Duties & Responsibilities

Full-Cycle Financial Leadership: Lead the monthly quarterly and annual close processes for the refinery and terminal entities ensuring all financial statements are accurate and issued timely.
Team Management: Directly supervise a financial reporting manager and revenue cost accounting manager.
Partner closely with the CFO and CEO and sync up with FP&A head on budgeting.
Cash Flow Management: Maintain and refine the dynamic 13 week rolling cash flow forecast.
Technical Accounting: Oversee all aspects of inventory accounting prepaids accruals and fixed assets .
Internal Controls: Strengthen the internal control environment by designing and documenting policies appropriate for a multi-site private operator to remediate gaps and mitigate risk.
Audit Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors (Baker Tilly) ensuring a smooth annual audit through disciplined pre-close work and prepared workpapers.
Debt Covenant Compliance: Monitor and ensure absolute compliance with all debt covenants and lender reporting requirements.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Coordinate the annual budget process and build operational dashboards that help leadership identify trends and act early.
Tax & Regulatory Support: Manage the annual 1099 process and provide clean workpapers to tax providers for timely filings.
Systems Optimization: Own the accounting systems stack (NetSuite) driving automation and standardization to reduce manual entry and error.
Capital Project Accounting: Oversee project accounting for CAPEX and major turnarounds ensuring expenditures are tracked accurately against budgets.
Experience Needed

Years of Experience: 10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
Industry Background: Manufacturing Energy 3PL or a sector that produces physical goods.
Leadership Tenure: Proven experience managing small high-impact teams within an accounting function.
Technical Mastery: Deep understanding of US GAAP consolidations intercompany transactions and complex inventory accounting.
Public Accounting: A background in public accounting is a plus.
Specific Exposure: Industry exposure to refining and terminal assets is highly valued.
Systems: Proficiency in ERPs like NetSuite Intacct Dynamics 365 etc.
