Summary Developmental Specialists are members of a team responsible for providing high-quality services to adults with developmental disabilities. Position Details: *We are seeking a dependable compassionate and patient individual to support a young woman living with a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) in Malden MA. * Location:Malden MA - Hours:34 - 40 hours hours per week
- Tuesdays & Thursdays $ Saturday:Morning hours (9 am -11am) and evening shifts ( 4 pm- 7 pm ( Split shift Mandatory) -
- Assist with preparing for work/meal prep and providing transportation to /from work
- Evening Pick up from work prepare dinner light housekeeping as needed
- Monday & Wednesday- 8 hour shifts 9- 5 or flexible
- Other 5 hours Flex schedule:with another client in Greater Lowell or Merrimack Valley Area
- Schedule flexibilityis appreciated and can be discussed further during the interview.
Local travel as needed. Milage reimbursement. Essential Job Functions - Responsible for implementing Individual Support Plans.
- Responsible for producing accurate legible and timely documentation for Individuals.
- Responsible for contributing ideas for program design and activities that are appropriate for the individuals to the program manager as part of their individual support plan.
- Serves as a program staff to assigned individuals to enhance the services designed and provided by the Program Manager.
- Train Individuals with any activities of daily living (ADLs) as applicable to each Individuals abilities.
- Responsible for the health safety and well-being of Individuals served seeking assistance and medical interventions as appropriate.
- Ensures groups and activities are delivered in a manner that meet the learning styles of the individuals following their implementation strategies.
- Responsible for transporting individuals to and from activities in the community using own vehicle.
- Assist with transportation to appointments and be available for consultation with providers if needed.
- Provides support to Individuals to assist them with developing problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Identifies interfering behavior and implements behavioral interventions.
- Participates in regular team meetings and clinical discussions regarding Individuals.
Experience & Education - Bachelors degree in the human service-related field OR 2 years of demonstrated ability working with persons with developmental disabilities.
- At least 1 year of experience working with persons with developmental disabilities
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities brain injury or related fields preferred
- Reliable transportation to and from Malden
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Dependable respectful and caring demeanor
