WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (Job Overview):
The Regional Communications Director will develop plan and implement communications and marketing activities that drive business objectives and results raise the visibility of the Red Cross mission support revenue generation and educate the public on how to access Red Cross services. You will work cross-functionally to provide communication and marketing support and implement the strategic plan aligned with organizational communication and marketing priorities. Provide guidance mentorship and training to staff as needed and offer leadership development and support to volunteers across the region.
Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with standard operating procedures and other applicable Federal State and local regulations.
This role is not eligible for relocation assistance. This role will report to our Honolulu office 3 days a week (subject to change based on business need). Regional travel involved.
The salary range for this position is (HI): $81620$87032/yr.

WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD (Key Responsibilities):
Develop and implement an effective communications strategy to support service delivery revenue generation efforts and promotion of products or services to align with organizational communications and marketing strategies.
Develop and execute media relations and social media strategy by maintaining social media platform distributing new releases and other press materials and managing relationships with media. Respond to media inquiries by coordinating interviews and providing Red Cross approved information as appropriate. Review support requests and develop and execute an effective communications strategy. Monitor and analyze public relations and social engagement data.
Lead and support public affairs activities delegating appropriately to trained staff or volunteers. Provide training and guidance to public affairs spokespersons and volunteers. May be required to serve as a Red Cross spokesperson train and prepare staff and volunteer spokespersons. May be required to develop and implement crisis communications strategies.
Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement internal communication strategies and initiatives.
May develop brand and creative content to support a variety of activities and advertising material used in external publications and media placements and work to secure in-kind PSA placements. May coordinate resources for the delivery of marketing programs.
May be required to deploy physically or virtually to support disaster response operations.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications):
Education: Bachelors degree in Communications Marketing Public Relations Journalism or related field required.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
Management Experience: N/A
Skills & Abilities: Outstanding oral and written communication skills required with proven knowledge of AP Style. Demonstrated ability to work effectively and persuasively with cross functional teams and all levels of leadership. Strong teamwork and collaboration required with demonstrated strong commitment and passion for mission of American Red Cross. Strong organizational multi-tasking skills with ability to meet deadlines. Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite with familiarity of media monitoring software website updating and other marketing tools. Demonstrated experience managing professional social media platforms for an organization is required with working knowledge of marketing functions and experience as media spokesman and account management preferred. Ability to work on a team.
Travel: May require up to 25% travel.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Physical requirements are those present in normal office environment conditions. Operational flexibility is required to meet sudden and unpredictable needs. Ability to use a personal computer applicable software and office equipment for sustained periods of time. May include sitting for long periods of time driving a vehicle and working under challenging conditions.
