The Department of Computer Science and Engineering College of Engineering at Texas A&M University invites applications for three full-time tenure-track or tenure review upon hire Assistant or Associate Professor-level positions with a nine-month academic appointment and the possibility of an additional summer appointment contingent upon the need and availability of funds beginning fall of 2026. Areas of interest include but are not limited to Autonomous and Cyber-Physical Systems Data Science Embodied AI Information Retrieval Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining Natural Language Processing and Robotics. Strong candidates in multi-disciplinary or emerging areas of computing are also encouraged to apply.
The successful applicant will be required to teach advise and mentor graduate and undergraduate students; develop and maintain an independent externally funded research program; participate in all aspects of the departments activities; and serve the profession. The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at Texas A&M is currently one of 15 departments in the College of Engineering. Many of the 55 tenured/tenure-track faculty and 30 teaching-focused faculty hold numerous national distinctions including ACM IEEE AAAS SIAM Fellows and ACM Distinguished Scientists and Engineers. The department has a strong and vibrant research program with half the faculty having received NSF CAREER awards. CSE faculty have strong collaborations with the Center for Remote Health Technologies and Systems the Institute of Data Science the Global Cyber Research Institute the Cybersecurity Center and the Bush Combat Development Complex. Our student population comprises over 1700 undergraduate students (sophomores to seniors) and nearly 700 graduate students. Applicants must have earned a doctorate in computer science computer engineering or a closely related field. Canidates who have completed all Ph.D. requirements except the dissertation will be considered provided they demonstrate clear progress towards completion.
