We are seeking a Temporary Full-time Communications Associate. Are you a creative storyteller who loves using social media to amplify a mission-driven organizationThis is a hybrid Full-Time Temporary role in Chicago.

LOCATION: Chicago Loop

POSITION TITLE: Communications Associate

SCHEDULE:30-40 hours/week- 2/3 days in person (Tuesday in person required)

DURATION: 2-3 months

Pay- $25/hr

Is This Your Dream JobThe Communications Associate will be responsible for planning creating and publishing engaging content across social media platforms to increase awareness engagement and community support. This role works closely with program and development teams to highlight impact stories events and campaigns.

Our Ideal Candidate:

• Minimum 2 years of social media management experience
• Proficiency in Canva is required
• Strong writing editing and visual storytelling skills
• Experience working in a nonprofit setting preferred
• Organized creative and able to manage multiple deadlines
• Experience with WordPress preferred.

How You Will Spend Your Day:

Social Media

• Understanding of social media channels and how to post content
• 3-5 posts per week with dynamic content related to the organizations mission
• Content is largely provided by program teams: publications media mentions legislative tracking event promotion etc.
• Basic Graphic Design for Instagram and Facebook as needed

Newsletter

• The organization distributes a monthly newsletter through Constant Contact.
• Pulling together stories and updates to populate the monthly newsletter.
• Using Constant Contact to format content and images
• Scheduling the distribution of the newsletter once reviewed and approved by Leadership.

Website Updates

• Basic understanding of WordPress
• Posting reports and news content to the website as needed.
• 
  
• The website was rebuilt and updated in 2025 so substantive changes will be minimal.

Project Management

• Occasionally serving as a liaison with the graphic designer and print house on production of reports invitations or other materials.
• When reports are published sharing them with external audiences through Constant Contact and on social media channels.
