Supply Chain Quality Engineer
The opportunity has arisen to join an industry leader in UKs & Irelands Building Services sector.
Alternative Heat design develop and deliver a wide range of offsite-prefabricated innovative and
sustainable building service solutions throughout the UK & Europe.
What We Do:
We specialise in the design supply and installation of a wide range of prefabricated energy
solutions typically built in NI and shipped throughout the UK & Europe. We also offer turnkey
design build and operate solutions for commercial energy centres and large-scale district heating
solutions and have experience with successfully procuring and delivering many similar packages
to a wide range of public bodies throughout UK & Europe.
Team Overview:
The Procurement team manages the sourcing and purchasing of materials equipment and
services essential to project delivery. By building strong supplier relationships negotiating
competitive terms and ensuring timely delivery the department supports cost control and project
schedules. Their proactive approach helps maintain quality standards while optimising value and
reducing supply chain risks across all projects.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Supply Chain Quality Engineer to work closely with our key
suppliers assessing their product quality & overall delivery against predefined criteria for all major
projects. The primary role will involve ensuring that all materials and plant from the approved
supplier list are delivered on time & to the required quality standard.

Hours Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm and Friday 8am-3pm
Salary Competitive Depending on Experience
Responsible to Head of Procurement
What Youll be Doing:
You will conduct supplier audits.
Evaluating suppliers conducting audits and assessing supplier quality metrics.
Develop and manage relationships with suppliers.
You will ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Working with suppliers to ensure all necessary quality activities are rigorously carried
out.
You will be in frequent contact with suppliers monitoring supplier performance
response times to ensure production continuity and on time delivery.
Developing and implementing supplier quality-related documentation.
Reviewing supplier manufacturing processes collaborating with suppliers on process
improvement and value enhancement opportunities.
Managing supplier corrective action reports.
Conducting tests to ensure quality or detect defects.
Implementing supplier approval programmes and conducting audits.
Maintain accurate records and reports.
Preparing reports to communicate outcomes of quality activities.
What You Need to Have:
Proven work experience as a Supplier Quality Engineer or relevant role in quality
control for 5 years.
Ability to travel for supplier visits.
Familiarity with quality management systems (ISO 9001).
Experience with quality inspection auditing and testing methods.
Strong knowledge of quality control standards and testing methodologies.
Proficiency in MS Office.
Good attention to detail
Strong organizational skills to monitor and keep track of multiple suppliers and their
performance metrics.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication skills to liaise with suppliers and cross-functional teams
reporting on supplier performance and discussing quality improvement strategies.
BSc degree in Engineering Quality or relevant field
Fluency in written and spoken English is essential
What You Would Ideally Have:
Familiarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
A foundation in quality control methods and practices as well as experience with
statistical analysis.
Practical experience with supplier Audits
Experience with project management
Experience with problem solving tools
