Job Description
JOB TITLE:Receptionist Community Engagement Center
REPORTS TO:Executive Director-Family and Community Engagement
WAGE/HOUR STATUS:Nonexempt
PAYGRADE: Para 3
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Receptionist will support the daily business activities of the building by answering telephones and greeting and directing guests. Assist with clerical duties as assigned.
Spring ISD employees are expected to act with integrity support and demonstrate our core values communicate in a clear and respectful manner and seek to continuously improve self-performance and processes.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- High School Graduate/GED from an accredited institution
Preferred:
- Three years job-related experience
- Bilingual
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Strong verbal and interpersonal skills
- Ability to use office equipment including telecommunication equipment and computer
- Ability to comprehend simple instructions and short correspondence
- Ability to make judgments based on available information
- Proficiency in use of computer and computer applications
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Answer telecommunication system for the purpose of screening calls transferring calls responding to inquiries and/or taking messages
- Evaluate situations for the purpose of taking appropriate action and/or directing to appropriate personnel for resolution
- Monitor building and parking area for the purpose of maintaining a safe faculty
- Assist Family and Community Engagement departmnet as may be required
- Greet visitors and direct to proper locations
- Participate in staff development and faculty meetings as assigned.
- Perform all other duties as assigned
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The usual and customary methods of performing this job require the following: ability to work in a fast-paced high-intensity work environment efficiently and effectively with frequent interruptions. Job may require prolonged periods of time sitting reaching and repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer. Overtime is required as necessary.
