Job Summary

Description

HOURS

  • Daily hours are 7:30am-3:30pm. Ability to stay later if required ensure no students are left alone. These hours are based on 8:00am-2:25pm school day
  • Attendance of 1 open house per school year
  • Steam Expo attendance
  • Professional Development days
  • 215 Days per year

ATTENDANCE (DAILY)

  • Let students through to classes until 10 minutes after the beginning of the school day
    • This may vary if there are reports of serious car accidents or other major events. If this happens email teachers to let tardy students through without a slip
  • Follow all WCSD guidelines concerning tardies and absences. Consistency is important!
  • Ensure all teachers are taking attendance each morning and after lunch
  • Check voicemail for reported absences
  • Record known absences accordingly via the approved attendance codes (codes will be provided)
  • Call parents of the student absent for unknown reason and document appropriately in the comments box

CLINIC (DAILY)

  • Maintain valid CPR and First Aid certifications
  • Schedule Epi-pen training for staff at beginning of school yearbefore school starts
  • Schedule health screenings (vision and hearing) with UNR for 1st and 4th graders that need them
    • Make Health record for all 1st graders and 4th graders that NEED them
    • Document results and send notes home to parents as necessary
    • Copy all notes and file them along with health record in the yellow health files
  • Note all incoming and returning students with allergies on google drive. Update this as to whether or not meds are on site
  • Have parents complete the appropriate paperwork to have meds on site. Meds cannot be accepted until paperwork is complete. Keep binder with all paperwork filed alphabetically
  • Store all meds in appropriate places (Epi-pen and inhalers in unlocked accessible cabinet all other meds in locked container)
  • When/if meds are given document the Daily Pupil Accident Log
  • Place students picture on all Epi-pens and inhalers stored
  • Maintain medical binder (separate from med binder) with all policies and procedures for medical emergencies
  • Assist students who come in throughout the day feeling ill
    • The only treatments we can provide are ice Band-Aids and crackers (unless
    • Document on ledger: name time reason for visit treatment and outcome. File these sheets to keep for records for the entire school year
    • Call parent if injury/illness requires (if unsure refer to health binder)

SECRETERIAL/BOOKKEEPING (DAILY)

  • Answer phones and greet visitors. Check all IDs for visitors and people who are picking up students. Act as a gatekeeper for the school
  • Regularly contact parents staff and outside entities through phone email and/or Parent Square
  • Place daily mail in teachers boxes
  • Maintain various spreadsheets that pertain to schedules medications allergies registration Staff hours etc.
  • Assist Admin with various secretarial duties
  • Assist all staff with various school projects and events as time allows

FIELD TRIPS (AS NEEDED)

  • Print rosters for teachers and bus driver on day of trip
  • Submit requests for buses to Transportation using Trip Tracker
  • Remind teachers to take any allergy meds/inhalers with them. These can only be held by the teacher

SUBSTITUTES (AS NEEDED)

  • Ensure coverage of all classes each day. If a teacher is absent and no subs are available split classroom between others in that grade level and document on spreadsheet
  • Print class rosters for sub unlock class door be sure to let sub know if they have duty and make sure there are lesson plans left by the teacher (If no lesson plans contact the teacher and the grade level team)

SUPPLIES (AS NEEDED)

  • Order school supplies (mainly through Staples or Amazon)
  • Disperse items to classrooms and supply room as items arrive

MISC (AS NEEDED)

  • If you have a sub license you could potentially be placed in a classroom to sub for the day
  • Help during Harvest Festival (not mandatory but you should clear your schedule. This is such a fun event!)
  • Make yourself available for teacher potty they are in a classroom ALL day
  • Make sure there is always a change of clothes for student accidents. Assist littles with finding extra clothes or call for parents to come change their student
  • Other duties as may be assigned
