Position Summary: The ESY Coordinator is responsible for the strategic planning logistical coordination and operational oversight of the districts summer special education programming. This role serves as the primary liaison between families service providers and building administrators to ensure that all Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) are implemented with fidelity during the summer Responsibilities:Program Design & Logistics: Develop the ESY master schedule including student groupings transportation routes (in coordination with the Transportation Dept) and service delivery Management: Recruit interview and recommend the hiring of ESY staff; assign caseloads to special education teachers Ed Techs and related service providers (SLPs OTs PTs).Family Liaison: Act as the main point of contact for families regarding ESY registration schedules and attendance; ensure parents receive timely and clear Oversight: Audit student IEPs to ensure that ESY Section 7 services are accurately translated into the summer schedule and that progress monitoring data is collected and reported per MUSER Support: Supervise day-to-day summer operations including managing student behaviors supporting staff with instructional needs and ensuring a safe regulated learning :Maine State Certification in Special Education (020 282 or equivalent).Strong organizational and systems-thinking ability to communicate with empathy and clarity during high-stress transitions.
