As the Team Manager of Closing Controls & Certification (CC&C) you will be responsible for managing four teams each led by a Team Leader (totaling 35 people). You will oversee the execution of closing controls and certifications for two teams in global markets (Equity Market and Fixed Income Treasury & ALM) one dedicated financing scope (CC&C Financing) and one international team combining the APAC and US scopes. You will play a key role in optimizing closing processes and ensuring the quality and integrity of financial data according to FDI (Financial Data Integrity) standards. You will report to the Head of Finance within BSA Portugal and to the Leader of Closing Controls & Certification (CC&C) based in Paris.
Responsibilities:
- Team Management: Supervise the Closing Controls & Certification Team Leaders (four) ensuring effective performance management and providing support for the professional development of each team member.
- Collaboration with Head Office and Finance Teams: Work closely with the Head Office in Paris and the Finance teams from the US and APAC platforms to coordinate activities procedures and controls within the CC&C teams.
- Recruitment and Integration: Manage the recruitment process in collaboration with functional leaders in Paris ensuring an effective onboarding and training program for new team members.
- Resource Allocation: Organize and optimize the allocation of resources necessary for monthly closing tasks ensuring each team is adequately equipped.
- Process Control and Optimization: Monitor and enhance the control framework throughout the monthly closing process ensuring data accuracy and compliance with internal standards.
Process Automation: Identify and aligne with Team Leaders to procede with automation solutions aimed at improving operational efficiency reducing processing times and minimizing Portugal you will play an active role among existing groups focussed on Innovation and Transformation.
Support for Reconciliations: Oversee monthly closings and when necessary assist teams in reconciling accounting data to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Inter-team Interactions: Collaborate with Portugal teams from FDI (Financial Data Integrity Data sourcing and DATR 1.2 controls ) FPC (LOD2) Market Risk and Finance teams such as MC&R (Market Control & Reporting) and SC&A (Strategy Control & Assurance) as well as with GMO (Global Markets Operations) and GBO (Global Banking Operations) to ensure smooth communication and coherence in all closing processes.
Trend Monitoring: Identify and monitor key trends in the industry to implement best practices and maintain financial data integrity.
Talent Management: Oversee talent management processes including performance reviews and training programs focusing on developing team capabilities and knowledge.
Budget Management: Monitor and manage the budget for your team ensuring resources are utilized effectively and expenditures aligned with strategic goals within BSA Finance global budget.
Qualifications :
- Education: Masters degree MBA or equivalent in finance accounting or a related field.
- Experience: Ideally 4 years of team management experience in a financial environment with expertise in financial control auditing or accounting.
- Technical Skills: Strong mastery of accounting principles (IFRS standards). Knowledge of financial products and accounting for these products is essential to provide support to the teams. Certification as a Certified Accountant or in progress towards obtaining this certification is a plus.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills to effectively manage multiple teams and projects simultaneously.
- Leadership: Proven ability to inspire and motivate multicultural teams ensuring personal and professional development of team members.
- Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interact with various stakeholders in Paris USA and APAC and of course Portugal and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
