Wage Range (Exempt):$80168.40 Annually
Reports To:Operations Manager
Position Summary:
A Production Supervisor oversees theoverall operations of the Packaging position is an essential position in the cohesive approach to production that works closely with the Production Manager. This supervisory positionis responsible forbeing a leadership resource to team members providing knowledge experiencemotivationand support. This positionis responsible foraccurateandtimelyexecution of the weekly production plan with emphasis on both roastingpackagingand quality performance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
  • Motivates all shift leadership and employees in the direction of their day-to-day activities.
  • Communicates with maintenance of any equipment needs and/or safety issues.
  • Ensures theaccurateexecution of the roasting schedule and packaging schedule based on production capabilities and demand using techniques such as coordinating production on critical lines during breaks and lunches.
  • Holds weekly crew meetings and request input fromemployeesas needed.
  • Monitors degas times of all roasted and groundproducts.
  • Performs minor servicing on equipment inthe packaging area.
  • Monitors/ensures daily shift goals meetthepackaging schedule.
  • OverseeKleanzand CAMS programs within the scope of production.
  • Activelyparticipatesin employee training program and informs the production manager of any potential training needs.
  • Counselemployees on job performanceissuesas necessary.
  • Accountablefor generating QC Submission Forms asrequired.
  • Ensures that all production team members are in compliance with all relevant GMPs and Quality programs.
  • Activelyparticipatesin companywide safetyprogramsand attends at least 1 safety meeting on a quarterly basis.
  • Responsible for reporting work related injuries to Production Management or Human Resources.
  • Oversees general housekeeping in and around production areas.
  • Continuallyseeksto improve processes and to refine methods of job performance.
  • Upholds and provides safe high-quality consistent products and superior services thatanticipatemeetor exceed the requirements of our customers.
  • Complies withthe GeneralSafety Communication Program.
  • Performs any other duties/tasks assigned to him/her on an as needed basis.
SUPERVISORY:
  • Supervises scheduling and effective completion of tasks performed by non-exempt Production.
  • Oversees the activities of Production Leads and all other non-management production personnel as well as oversees temporary workers as assigned.
  • Maintains adirectapproach to management and is present and available to employees.
  • Motivates production employees and directs their day-to-day activities.
  • Counselsproduction employees as necessary on job performance issues.
  • Inspires production employees toattainthe goals developed for each job function.
  • Gives input tothe Operations Managerregardinghiring firing and other duties related to the staffing of the production team ensuring that the highest levels of performance are met.
SKILL SET/EXPERIENCE:
  • 3years ofpractical experience ina manufacturing environment.
  • Certifiedforkliftoperator.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously toidentifyand address problems and to consistently meet deadlines.
  • Advanced computer knowledge in Excel Word and Windows.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to read write perform basic math and manage moderate levels of work-related stress.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills to plan implement and follow through on assignments in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to solve complex problems and present practical solutions.
EDUCATION:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • College degreepreferred.
WORK ENVIROMENT:
  • This position is inside a warehouse roasting facility that requires constant standing on concrete floors hand manipulation of packaged product exposure to loud equipment noise and subject to coffee dust and strong odors.
  • Occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
  • Personal protection equipment and other Good Manufacturing Practices are mandatory.

  • Regular attendance and promptnessrequiredfor thisposition.
  • Work may berequiredoutside the normal workweek.
  • This job requires a high degree of teamwork.
  • This job requires the ability to work independently without a high degree of supervision.
