Overview
Position Summary
The Administrator leads and manages the Health Care Facility in accordance with resident needs government regulations and Franciscan mission and policy while achieving business and financial objectives. This position is also responsible for inspections and surveys resident assessment and chairs various committees within the organization.
Essential Functions Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Attend the quality assurance committee meetings as the administrator representative preparing reports as necessary.
- Attend the resident council meetings monthly as an invited administrative representative answering questions for residents as appropriate and following up as appropriate.
- Assist in achieving organization financial and quality objectives while ensuring that service lines and programs are responsive to community needs and quality care is delivered in the most effective and economical fashion.
- Ensure that residents right to fair and equitable treatment self-determination individuality privacy property and civil rights including the right to wage complaints are established and maintained at all times.
- Meet with assigned department supervisors concerning the operations of their departments and other related areas to assist in eliminating/correcting problem areas and /or improvement of services.
- Attend and participate in educational workshops seminars and meetings in order to keep abreast of current changes in the health care fields as well as to maintain a professional status.
- Plan implement and maintain an adequate liaison with families and residents.
- Ensure an attractive safe and sanitary environment is provided for residents staff and visitors.
- Tour and monitor the community.
- Identify and prevent safety hazards.
- Participate in the preparation of the community budget.
- Monitor staffing equipment and program expenses and ensure efficient fiscal management of services.
- Solicit resident feedback involve residents in problem solving/general ideas for new services or features and when possible implement residents suggestions.
- Serve as manager on duty as needed with authority and responsibility of all phases of daily operations.
- Manage day-to-day administration of Skilled Nursing Facility services and programs.
- Assist in the State Department of Health survey preparation process and follow-up.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Comply with all policies and procedures and any updates.
Position Requirements
Education: Associates degree in business or healthcare field required; Bachelors degree in business or healthcare related field preferred
Licenses/Certifications: Administrator License may be required depending on state regulations and requirements
Experience: 2 years of management experience in a healthcare setting
Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to balance and prioritize multiple projects at once
